I bought a 318is from a friend (original owner) with
the intention of using it as a track car or to make it a
daily driver, but my work is taking me to San
Francisco from Atlanta. The car has to go...
The car overheated due to a cracked coolant return
pipe which has been replaced. I haven't taken the
head off yet to ascertain the extent of damage, but at
minimum, it needs a new head gasket. It runs, but is
blowing combustion gases into the coolant. My plan
was to drop a 2.5L engine in if the damage was too
severe to repair economically.
179K miles. 5 spd. The paint is in very good shape
with a couple of small dings. Seats are a bit worn,
but the rest of the interior is in good shape. Dash
has no cracks. New radiator.
